Smooth Pipes

Smooth pipes are able to reveal the inner beauty of a block of briar. From rough unfinished burl the pattern of the grain is revealed. When creating a smooth pipe I often study the structure of the grain for hours in order to come up with a design that best complements the shape and orientation of the briar grain.

Only the finest grained blocks of well-cured plateau briar are chosen for my smooth pipes.
