2004 Pipes

2004 was the first year I started to rely on pipes as a major source of income. A major slump in the local film industry, which had been my bread and butter ,forced me to evaluate my career.

I liked making pipes much more than working outdoors for 15 hours at a time, and I had a baby on the way -- I didn't want to be an absentee Father, and if I could make enough money making pipes I wouldn't have to be.

So I applied for a government-sponsored Self Employment program and decided to try and make pipes my main source of income. My designs were getting there, but I was still working on figuring out what my personal style was.
